We’ve moved, now the websites

January 30, 2014

In November 2012, we announced that the Xfam groups were moving the few tens of metres from the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute to the European Bioinformatics Institute. We warned you then, that the websites would also eventually move. TreeFam is already up and running at EMBL-EBI and the time is drawing near for Pfam and Rfam.  Admittedly, the transition process has taken a little longer than we had hoped, but hey, moving 15 years worth of infrastructure takes time.  Over the coming weeks you may notice changes to email list subscriptions, help emails and finally the websites URL.  The old URLs will work for the time being, and will be redirected to the new addresses.  We will write a separate blog explaining all of the changes once they are in place, the purpose of this post is to let you know that there is a ‘risk’ period over the coming weeks and to expect changes!
